Eve Carlson, PhD
Eve Carlson is a clinical
psychologist researcher with the National Center for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
and the Palo Alto VA Health Care System. She conducts research on the psychological
impact of traumatic experiences with a focus on assessment. Her publications
include the books Trauma Assessments: A Clinician's Guide and Trauma Research
Methodology and numerous theoretical and research papers relating to traumatic
stress and assessment of trauma and trauma responses. Dr. Carlson has collaborated
on the development of several measures, including measures of trauma history,
PTSD, and dissociation. She is currently conducting an NIMH-funded study to
develop a novel assessment method called Ecological Proximal Assessment that
uses handheld computers to collect intensive, longitudinal self-report data
in participants’ natural environments.
